My key activities operating the travel lift at the marina include: hauling boats in and out of the water with cranes or specialized equipment, making sure they safely make their way to dry dock for storage or maintenance. My works literally starts in the autumn when boats are back in the marina and need to be safely stored or get out of the water to do some maintenance.
I also do pressure washing to clean hulls of boats by removing dirt and marine growth.
I regularly communicate with the owners about their needs and additional services. Further than that, I maintain the dry dock area. I make sure it is kept clean, organized, performing minor repairs, and making sure all is safe and compliant.
I do detailed records of all lift operations and patrol for the area to make sure all goes as it should. Safety is always my top priority for everyone and every boat. Not everybody can do this job as you need some special license and training.
