D-Marin observed these internationally significant days across all of its 20 marinas in Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, Turkey, Spain, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.
The marina network arranged a series of beach and seabedcleans, as well as inviting local schools for educational sessions on the value of marine life and how small actions can drive positive change. Other informative events were held with the community, recognising the need for collective action to protect the local environment.
These initiatives reaffirm D-Marin’s commitment to its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy which aims to create ‘sustainable marinas for today’s and future generations.’
D-Marin continuously undertakes initiatives to drive positive change, including sustainable resource management, carbon footprint reduction, and conservation projects. It also provides staff with training on sustainability practices, so they are equipped to share their knowledge with the community.
Areti Priovolou, HSE Officer at D-Marin, said: “At D Marin, we firmly believe that sustainability and premium marina experiences are not mutually exclusive. By integrating responsible practices into our core operations, we can create a positive impact on the environment while simultaneously driving innovation and growth.
“Through World Environment Day and World Ocean’s Day, we encourage our people, guests, partners, and city fellows to join hands in the pursuit of a sustainable future. Let us all make a commitment to embrace eco-friendly practices, protect natural resources, and preserve the planet for generations to come.”
